Volkswagen Tiguan eHybrid 2020 Review

The Volkswagen Tiguan is an e-Hybrid, which means it has the ability to run on both petrol and electricity. Unlike other hybrid vehicles that automatically switch between the two, with the Volkswagen Tiguan e-Hybrid you can select ‘E-mode’ yourself and run solely on electricity. On a full charge, which takes around three and a half hours, you can travel roughly 31 miles before you need to plug in.

Now 31 miles might not sound much, but the average car journey distance in the UK is just 8.4 miles. So if used as family car for school runs and a short commute to the office, you could feasibly go for weeks without using any fuel at all.

As well as being economical, the Volkswagen Tiguan e-Hybrid a pleasure to drive. There’s plenty of space to fit four adults comfortably and it has plenty of grunt, especially in GTE mode which makes driving a family SUV feel positively sporty.

The interior is smart and functional, the driver’s seat is comfortable and visibility is no issue with large windows and optional parking sensors and cameras. All of which go a long way to making this a great addition to Volkswagen’s best-selling family SUV range.

The Volkswagen Tiguan e-Hybrid is expected to be priced from £37,000 and will no doubt be a huge hit for those looking to move towards an electric family car without breaking the bank.
